Learner Driver – Code of Conduct

To keep lessons safe, productive, and respectful, all learners are expected to follow this Code of Conduct. It outlines what you need to bring, how to manage cancellations, your responsibilities for safety, and the behaviour standards required during lessons. Following these guidelines helps ensure a positive learning environment and allows your instructor to deliver the highest standard of training.

1. Be Prepared

  • Bring your valid driving licence to your lessons.

  • Wear suitable footwear and clothing for safe driving.

  • Bring corrective eyewear if required.

  • Be on time and ready to learn.

 

2. Respect Lesson Time

  • Give at least 48 hours’ notice to cancel or change a lesson.

  • Mobile phones should be silent unless agreed otherwise.

  • Regular missed or late-cancelled lessons may result in permanent removal from the diary.

 

3. Prioritise Safety

  • Follow instructions from your instructor at all times.

  • Never attempt to drive under the influence of alcohol, drugs, or while unwell.

  • Inform your instructor of any conditions or issues that may impact your ability to drive.

 

4. Behaviour Expectations

  • Treat your instructor and vehicle with respect.

  • Aggressive, abusive, discriminatory, or inappropriate behaviour will result in termination of the lesson and possibly future lessons.

  • You may be liable for damage caused deliberately or through reckless behaviour.

 

5. Communication

  • Be open and honest during lessons.

  • If you feel uncomfortable, anxious, or need a break, let your instructor know.

6. Recording Policy

  • Audio or video recording during lessons is not allowed unless agreed beforehand.

  • Dashcams may be in use for insurance and safety.

 

10. Breach of Terms or Code of Conduct

Failure to comply with these terms or the Code of Conduct may result in:

 

  • Immediate cancellation of the current lesson (without refund)

  • Refusal of future lessons

  • Termination of the learner-instructor agreement
