How much do driving lessons cost?
I offer 2-hour manual lessons and block bookings. Please contact me for the latest rates and availability.
How long are driving lessons?
All lessons are 2 hours long unless agreed otherwise. This gives enough time for real progress each week without feeling rushed.
Do you teach automatic or manual?
I currently teach in a manual car only.
Can I start lessons before passing my theory test?
Yes, you can begin practical lessons before you’ve passed your theory test. I’ll also help guide you with theory preparation.
Do you offer block bookings?
Yes, block bookings are available for learners who’d like to plan ahead and save on lesson costs.
What areas do you cover?
I teach in and around Exeter and East Devon covering Ottery St Mary, Honiton & Sidmouth.
How can I pay for lessons?
You can pay securely through my learner app or by bank transfer before the lesson starts. all lessons need to be paid at least 48 hours before the start time.
What happens if I need to cancel a lesson?
Things happen and plans change so this is not a problem. I do have a 48-hour cancellation policy. Lessons cancelled with less than 48 hours’ notice will still be charged in full.
What should I bring to my first lesson?
Please bring your provisional driving licence and wear comfortable footwear suitable for driving.
How many lessons will I need before I’m ready for the test?
It varies by person, but most learners need around 40–50 hours of professional lessons along with private practice. This is an average however so it may take less time, or longer.
Can I use your car for my driving test?
Yes, if I’m confident you’re ready, you can use my car for your practical driving test.
Do you teach motorway driving?
Yes, motorway lessons are included once you reach the right level of experience and confidence.
Do you offer refresher lessons?
Yes, refresher lessons are available for full licence holders wanting to rebuild confidence or improve specific skills.
Do you offer Pass Plus courses?
Yes, I provide Pass Plus training to help new drivers gain experience and potentially lower insurance costs.
Can parents or friends sit in on lessons?
Yes, if you’d like a parent or friend to observe, please ask and we’ll see what’s possible. This is usually a good idea if they are going to help with your private practice.
Do lessons go ahead in bad weather?
Lessons usually continue in all weather conditions, but safety always comes first — I’ll contact you if we need to rearrange.
What car do you use?
I use a modern dual-controlled manual car that’s fully insured for learner drivers.
Do you help with test nerves?
Yes, I provide support and techniques to manage nerves, including realistic mock tests and calm guidance.
Do you offer lessons for nervous drivers?
Absolutely — lessons are paced to your comfort level, building confidence gradually and positively.
Can you pick me up and drop me off somewhere different?
Yes, as long as both locations are within my teaching area & agreed prior to the lesson, that’s no problem.
